Public Safety 40-Hour Basic TeleCommunicator: Perfect training the new-hire or as a refresher for existing staff, This course covers the basics skills, knowledge and abilities that successful public safety telecommunicators need must have, to excel in this line of work.
Building on foundational topics such as communication skills, call-taking and radio techniques, this course incorporates the most up-to-date information on technology and work-related issues in Public Safety Communications Centers. Topics include NextGen 9-1-1, emerging technologies, continuing education and liability. Students successfully passing the final exam receive a course completion certificate, demonstrating completion of a training course that meets and exceeds industry accepted national basic training standards.
TOPICS INCLUDE:
A current CPR and First-Aid card is required. Students do not have to be currently employed by a 911 Service to attend this course.
