Neonatal Resuscitation Program – (NRP) This course provides participants with the opportunity to discuss and demonstrate neonatal resuscitation skills. It includes an overview and principals of resuscitation, initial steps, use of devices, chest compressions, intubation, LMA insertion, medications, special considerations, resuscitation of the pre-term baby, and end of life ethics and care. It is a self study course, with online testing, and attendance at a supervised simulation, skills evaluation, and debriefing session.

Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals - (PEPP) PEPP represents a complete source of prehospital medical information for the emergency care of infants and children. Developed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, PEPP is an exciting curriculum designed to teach prehospital professionals how to better assess and manage ill or injured children. PEPP is a comprehensive, innovative, and highly visual course featuring case-based lectures, live-action video, hands-on skills stations, and small group scenarios. The Basic Life Support (BLS) course is geared toward the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and the Advanced Life Support (ALS) course is geared toward the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), Paramedic and Registered Nurses or other ALS level providers.
BLS
- The traditional onsite course is a 9.25-hour course, conducted entirely in the classroom.
- The hybrid course is a combination of online learning (8.0 hours of education), followed by hands-on practice in the classroom. Instead of attending a daylong traditional onsite course, students learn a portion of the course through self-directed online modules. After completing all of the online modules, students then attend a short onsite course for completion of hands-on practice, as well as instructor interaction and the final examination.
- The traditional onsite course is a 16.75-hour course, conducted entirely in the classroom.
- The hybrid course is a combination of online learning (14.0 hours of education), followed by hands-on practice in the classroom. Instead of attending a 2-day traditional onsite course, students learn a portion of the course through self-directed online modules. After completing all of the online modules, students then attend a 1-day onsite course for completion of hands-on practice, as well as instructor interaction and the final examination.

Take the Online Pretest (Onsite Students Only)
Students attending an onsite course must take the online pretest. Although you will not receive a certificate, your Course Coordinator will verify your successful completion in the course roster.
Take the Precourse Online Module (Hybrid Students Only)
After you have read the textbook and participated in the nine online modules, you will receive a Course Completion Certificate on your My Account page. Bring this certificate with you to the course.

Pediatric First Aid for Caregivers and Teachers - (PedFACTs) This course is designed for caregivers, teachers, and others who care for children. The PedFACTs course focuses on what to do if a child in your care suddenly becomes ill or gets injured. After completing the course caregivers, teachers, and others will be better able to:
- Apply the 4Cs of Pediatric First Aid to medical situations
- Recognize an ill or injured child
- Identify specific types of medical problems and give appropriate first aid care
- Know when to call emergency medical services (EMS)
- Know how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Understand what an automated external defibrillator (AED) does and how to use one
- Know what to do when a child is choking
- Give rescue medication for a breathing problem
- Use an epinephrine auto-injector for a severe allergic reaction
- Students take an online pretest before the course.
- Students attend a 4-hour classroom course.
- All content is presented by a PedFACTs instructor.
- Students take a written final examination.
Hybrid Course
- Students take an online pretest before the course.
- Students learn course content by self-directed online modules (about 2 hours).
- Students take an online final examination.
- Students attend a 2-hour classroom course for hands-on skills practice and instructor interaction
- Print out and bring required online certificates to the course
- Successfully complete the CPR and Choking Relief Skills Stations
- Correctly answer 80% of the questions on the final examination
Read the Pediatric First Aid for Caregivers and Teachers, Second Edition Manual First The most important thing that you can do to prepare for the course is to read and study the manual. The manual contains 18 PedFACTs topics. These topics include common first aid situations that one might encounter when caring for a child. It also includes what to do for some serious emergencies while waiting for medical care. All content presented in both the onsite course and hybrid course is discussed in detail in the manual. Read and study this material before attending the course or taking the online modules.
Print Out the Pretest Certificate (Onsite Students Only) All students must take the pretest and print out the Pretest Certificate. Logon to the PedFACTs website at www.PedFACTsonline.com. Redeem your unique access code. Then take the pretest. At the end of the pretest, you will be able to print out the Pretest Certificate. Bring this certificate with you to the course. Use the pretest to identify topics that you need to review from the manual prior to attending the onsite or hybrid course.
Print Out the Final Examination Certificate (Hybrid Students Only) Hybrid students take the final examination online. After you have read the manual and taken the pretest, work through the 3 self-directed online modules. The content of each module is also discussed in detail in the manual. After completing the modules, take the online final examination. Print out the Final Examination Certificate. Bring this certificate with you to the course.
